The Industrial Automation Specialist role is pivotal in overseeing the operational technology strategies across multiple facilities. This position will serve as the primary contact for implementing automation initiatives, managing projects, and facilitating communication between plant operations and the corporate automation team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the deployment of operational technology strategies to enhance plant performance.
  • Maximize the uptime of industrial automation systems, including hardware, networks, and software solutions.
  • Utilize cybersecurity tools to safeguard industrial control systems against threats.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to drive continuous improvement in automation processes.
  • Manage automation enhancement projects and assist in recovery efforts during system outages.

Essential Duties:

  • Implement and uphold cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues within plant control systems.
  • Report critical cybersecurity incidents to relevant management.
  • Oversee project management for industrial networking and application upgrades.
  • Manage vendor access for PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Participate in cybersecurity audits and maintain comprehensive reports.
  • Continuously improve cybersecurity metrics and report findings to management.
  • Maintain and update automation architecture documentation.
  • Organize software updates and patches for automation servers.
  • Develop long-term plans for industrial networking and application strategies.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with automation standards in all plant initiatives.
  • Support facilities on-site, with occasional travel for training or project needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in automation and operations technologies.
  • Proven experience in plant-wide automation network design and PLC programming.
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols and basic electrical systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio.
  • Experience with SCADA or HMI systems is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
