Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Senior Engineer to join our Engineering Division. This position provides planning and design support as part of a project team for water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, predominantly focused on treatment-related planning and design. The ideal candidate would be a professional engineer with 5+ years of experience in water infrastructure and treatment and civil engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Execution of projects under the supervision of a Project Manager for planning and analysis of water, wastewater and/or recycled water processes and facilities, including capacity analysis, facility plans, alternatives analysis, condition assessment, process evaluations, risk assessment, O&M optimization, and more.
  • Execution of projects under the supervision of a Project Manager for design of water, wastewater and/or conveyance and treatment processes and facilities, open channel hydraulics, pump stations, reservoirs / storage facilities, treatment equipment (i.e., screens, clarifiers, blowers, dewatering equipment, filters, among others), including development of project plans, specification packages, calculations packages, and construction cost estimates.
  • Capability to work in the field, including construction observation, inspections, field measurements, and monitoring equipment setup, as necessary.
  • Capability to travel within California including but not limited to meeting with clients, plant site walks, attending conferences and professional organization events, and perform project-related field work, as necessary.
  • Training and delegating tasks to Project Engineers in order to balance workload and efficiently get project tasks completed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • 5+ years engineering experience in planning and design of mechanical and treatment related projects.
  • Professional Civil and/or Mechanical Engineer licensed in the State of California.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft office (Word and Excel), have excellent writing, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with design software including AutoCAD.
