We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mortgage Loan Originator to enhance our Mortgage Loan Team at Glacier Bank. This role will focus on servicing various branches while providing support across the region.
This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping clients navigate their mortgage options, assessing loan applications, and making informed credit decisions in accordance with lending regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective origination strategies that incorporate sales techniques and analytical skills to assist clients in securing mortgage loans.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in mortgage lending and market influences.
- Thoroughly review and assess mortgage loan documentation to ensure compliance with bank and regulatory standards.
- Make decisions on loan applications, including approvals, rejections, or requests for additional information.
- Analyze the acceptability of loans in secondary mortgage markets.
- Provide borrowers with clear explanations of loan terms and their financial obligations.
- Engage with clients who may be behind on their loan payments, as necessary.
- Safeguard the bank against fraud and reputational risks.
- Promote the bank's mortgage lending services to individuals and businesses within the real estate sector.
- Cross-sell additional banking services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess prior experience in mortgage lending and ideally hold a Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience. A strong ability to influence and motivate others is essential, along with excellent communication skills and proficiency in using mortgage loan software.
Reliable transportation is required, as the role involves travel to various branch locations. Knowledge of mortgage lending products and compliance with relevant regulations is crucial.
Work Environment:
This position primarily involves desk work and travel to meet clients.
Physical Requirements:
Employees must be able to perform essential job functions, which may include sitting for extended periods, using hands for repetitive tasks, and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
