About the Role: As a Senior Meat Cutter at Walmart, you will be responsible for driving sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member's expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service; be flexible to the needs of the business; track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
- Be an Expert: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the various types and seasonality of different meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations; provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications (for example, cutting, slicing, grinding, and wrapping meat products); ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
- Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
- Be an Owner: Drive business results, ensuring commitment to operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a work area according to company policies and procedures; ensure quality and standards for high-volume meat products; eliminate waste; secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise; assist members with purchasing decisions; and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored.
- Be a Talent Ambassador: Be an advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products; execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality; interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training them to perform job-related duties as assigned.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and apply these in executing business processes and practices.
- Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carry out tasks; communicate progress and information; determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapt to and learn from change, difficulties, and feedback.
