Position Overview

The Bartender & Server plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by taking orders, serving beverages and small plates, conducting tastings, and guiding patrons through the unique Hana Makgeolli journey. The ideal candidate will provide knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient service while also supporting direct-to-consumer sales through various events and order fulfillment.

  • Part-Time; Minimum 2-3 days a week; Availability on Sundays required
  • Approximately 6-18 hours per week
  • Position based in Brooklyn


Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and seat guests, whether by reservation or walk-in
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the small plates and beverage offerings
  • Prepare and serve beverages and small plates in accordance with Hana Makgeolli's quality standards
  • Utilize the POS system for order entry, payment processing, and receipt management
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages to guests
  • Maintain cleanliness of tasting room tools, equipment, and guest areas
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, production teams, and management to ensure seamless service
  • Address any guest concerns or complaints with management
  • Assist with inventory management and preparation of service-related items
  • Handle packing and distribution of pick-up and delivery orders
  • Follow established opening and closing procedures
  • Support event logistics and execution on-site
  • Assist with direct-to-consumer order fulfillment (pick-up, delivery, and shipping)


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of bartending experience
  • Strong knowledge of beverages and fermentation, with a passion for the service industry
  • Availability during late afternoons and evenings from Wednesday to Sunday
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with guests, managers, and colleagues
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items
  • Ability to think quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented and collaborative in approach
  • Interest in breweries, wineries, or fermentation is a plus
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
