Employment Type: Full-time or PRN

Position Summary: The primary responsibility is to deliver patient care under the guidance and supervision of nursing staff. This role emphasizes patient commitment, ensuring tasks are completed and communication with nursing and respiratory therapy staff is maintained to facilitate optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities of Healthcare Support Technician (HST)/CNA:

  • Execute fundamental care tasks under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, including monitoring vital signs, measuring intake/output, providing catheter care, performing CPR, managing restraints, assisting with bowel and bladder training, and documenting care in patient records.
  • Assist licensed nurses in fulfilling patients' needs in personal hygiene, skin care, grooming, rest, nutrition, body mechanics, elimination, and psychosocial support.
  • Deliver safe and adequate care, maintain awareness of each assigned patient, and participate in reports with nursing and other technicians. Attention to detail regarding patient care restrictions and specific instructions (dietary guidelines, fall risk, etc.) is essential.

Qualifications for Healthcare Support Technician (HST)/CNA:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, ideally in a hospital environment, including EMT/Paramedic experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organized, team-oriented, and detail-focused
  • Proficient computer skills
  • BLS/CPR certification is preferred (training available)
