Excavation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team at Webber. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate ditches, structures, and mass excavations, laying pipe and precast concrete structures, loading trucks, and placing rock riprap.

1. Operate crawler or rubber-tired machines mounted with excavator buckets to perform excavation tasks.
2. Signal truck drivers to position trucks for loading dirt, rocks, and other materials.
3. Identify and mitigate potential hazards and obstructions on the jobsite.
4. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including oiling, greasing, and making adjustments as needed.
5. Comply with all safety policies and procedures, reporting any unsafe activities to supervisors or HR.
6. Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental and company goals.
7. Develop strong relationships with colleagues by demonstrating fairness, honesty, reliability, and a strong work ethic.

1. At least five years of experience as an Excavator Operator in heavy highway and civil construction.
2. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
3. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
4. Mathematical proficiency in basic geometry, algebra, and mathematics.
5. Ability to move throughout a construction jobsite, including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
6. Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
7. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
8. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
