About the Role

This internship offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in structural design and packaging processes. As a Packaging Design Engineer Co-Op, you'll assist in project design and sample cutting to meet customer needs while learning to operate design software and cutting machinery. You'll participate in team meetings to resolve project issues and monitor production to recommend design improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in day-to-day project design and sample cutting needs to service customers
  • Learn and utilize design software - Esko CAD and TOPS in daily activities
  • Learn to operate Kongsberg cutting table and table layout process to cut samples
  • Assist/attend meetings with customers as needed for new projects or current projects that are facing issues
  • Work with team to develop solutions
  • Attend daily New Items Meeting to get updates and understand current business status of the division
  • Monitor new as well as less efficient projects running on the production floor to discover issues between design and actual production capabilities
  • Work within Design Team to recommend design changes or production equipment options to maximize efficiencies
  • If ordered by customer, be able to experience their designs going from concept through production
