Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse/RN
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity is for a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Cahaba Medical Care Foundation. Responsibilities and Expectations- Punctual and regular attendance at the office during business hours is essential.
- Triage patients and take vital signs to ensure timely and effective treatment.
- Accurate documentation of all patient care in electronic medical records (EMRs) is crucial for maintaining up-to-date patient information.
- Assist providers with various tasks, including performing exams, invasive procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Order standard laboratory tests for chronic disease visits, as directed by the provider.
- Complete quality management tasks within EMRs to maintain accurate records.
- Reconcile medications and allergies for each patient at each clinical encounter to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- E-prescribe medications once the provider has made the necessary changes.
- Schedule consultation appointments or imaging appointments for patients as needed.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures to minimize anxiety and ensure comfort.
- Set up for procedures to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
- Respond promptly to patient messages, schedule appointments, and procedures in a timely manner.
- Clean and stock rooms, updating inventory records regularly to maintain a well-organized workspace.
- Administer medications and vaccines after satisfactory assessment of competency.
- Perform patient tests and screenings, including x-rays, upon satisfactory assessment of competency.
- Conduct waived laboratory testing as ordered by a physician after satisfactory assessment of competency.
- Remove sutures or staples from superficial wounds, casts, splints, and other external devices after satisfactory assessment of competency.
- Work through assigned tasks in EMRs efficiently and effectively.
- Communicate with other physician offices, patients, and ancillary healthcare offices like pharmacies as directed by the providers.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 5 years of experience in a medical setting.
- Satisfactory completion of the CMCF Medical Assistant Training Program or Nursing Program.
- Maintenance of an active Alabama RN or LPN license in good standing.
- Experience in a medical office is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Excellent customer service and phone communication skills.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
