Role Summary:
The primary responsibility of the EMS Educator is to serve as the lead educator for the Mercy Health EMS Division. This role involves utilizing advanced simulation technology both on-site and within a mobile simulation unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on external EMS agencies and provide high-quality simulation training.
- Operate, maintain, and ensure cleanliness of all simulation equipment and supplies.
- Develop educational materials and clinical scenarios as needed.
- Schedule, coordinate, and travel to various EMS training events.
- Conduct training sessions at hospitals and on-site at EMS agencies.
- Maintain certifications including NREMT-P, ACLS instructor, PALS instructor, and EMS instructor.
- Complete simulator-specific training, which may require travel for off-site courses.
- Collaborate with the simulation center to enhance training effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Associate's Degree or Paramedic certification.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
- Required Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active certifications in ACLS, PALS, and CPR. EMS Instructor certification is required within two months of hire.
- Preferred Skills: PHTLS Instructor certification and a clean driving record.
