Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Float Pool

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Psychiatric Float Pool team at Salem Hospital, Inc. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

* Float to various mental health units throughout the hospital, including pediatrics, adult, and geriatric psychiatry
* Engage with patients suffering from a diverse range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients undergoing detoxification
* Provide care for medically acute patients requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care
* Handle admissions and discharges
* Use and manage automatic medication dispensing systems (Omni Cell)
* Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:3 in pediatrics and 1:7 or 8 in adult and geriatric psych units
* Complete AVADE training and optional lead EKG training offered on-site

Requirements:

* Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
* Massachusetts RN License
* AHA BLS certification
* Certification in De-escalation
* Proficiency in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC
* Proficiency in the use of psychotropic medications and knowledge of side effects
* Ability to assume the role of charge nurse
* Competence in IV pump use and diabetic patient care
