Cardiac Sonography Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonography Specialist to join our team at Northwell Health.

The salary range for this position is $54.70-$64.18 per hour, providing a competitive compensation package that reflects your expertise and experience.

About the Role:

As a Cardiac Sonography Specialist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound studies using high-frequency ultrasonic waves to diagnose diseases.

You will collaborate with clinicians to ensure the appropriateness of studies and perform related administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for echocardiogram exams, positioning them on examination tables according to departmental standard operating procedures.
• Obtain pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with echocardiogram exams.
• Consult with referring physicians regarding patient history and determine appropriate images required.
• Set up equipment to administer exams in a timely fashion, using settings on machines to assure accurate results.
• Perform echocardiography procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography, as required.
• Analyze sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during exams.
• Document test results in patient medical records and report findings to physicians.
• Perform frequent calibration checks and adjustments on ultrasound equipment.

Requirements:

• Vocational or technical school diploma required.
• One of the following credentials required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS).
• 1-3 years of technical experience required.
