Transport students safely and efficiently on designated routes, adhering to strict safety protocols and schedules.

Responsibilities and Duties

This list is representative, not exhaustive, and drivers are expected to perform all duties as assigned or directed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions, consistent with applicable law.

  • Ensure student safety by following safety rules and regulations.
  • Operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner, complying with traffic regulations.
  • Conduct regular vehicle checks to ensure all safety equipment is in working order.
  • Maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure a safe environment.
  • Pick up and drop off students at regularly scheduled locations, adhering to strict time schedules.
  • Report any malfunctions or needed repairs to maintain vehicle safety.
  • Prepare and submit reports on student transportation, including mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Keep bus interiors clean and tidy for students.
  • Read maps and follow written and verbal directions to navigate routes.
  • Report delays, accidents, or other transportation situations using communication devices.
  • Perform minor repairs to vehicles as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Remain calm under stress and strain, avoiding hasty decisions.

Minimum Educational Requirements

· High School Diploma or equivalent
