Job Overview

POSITION TITLE: Field Service Technician

DIVISION: Sales

SUPERVISOR: District Manager or Sales Manager

OVERVIEW: This role is essential in supporting field sales by ensuring the effective execution of Dorf Ketal's key initiatives and chemical applications at specified client sites. As a Field Service Technician, your primary responsibility is to uphold safety standards for yourself and those around you. Key tasks include sampling, testing, managing inventory, handling chemicals, coordinating deliveries, maintaining records, troubleshooting, and repairing injection equipment as well as company-owned storage systems. Building strong relationships with client operations and engineering teams is crucial. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for success in this position. This role contributes significantly to Dorf Ketal by ensuring that our programs deliver the anticipated results and return on investment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine and non-routine sampling of processes safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular testing to confirm that essential performance metrics for chemical programs are achieved. Communicate findings and any troubleshooting measures taken to the Site Lead or Account Manager.
  • Oversee the onsite inventory for all chemical applications, ensuring sufficient supplies are available to meet daily, weekly, and monthly requirements. Assist with ordering, handling, and transferring chemicals on site while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinate and supervise all onsite deliveries, including the unloading of chemicals into bulk storage or designated containers.
  • Repair and replace chemical injection pumps and facilities to ensure timely chemical delivery into processes. Assemble new chemical injection facilities as needed.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of spare pumps and equipment to ensure seamless operations. Ensure all work complies with required safety codes and plant policies.
  • Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, face shields, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, and aprons.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of tools, parts, materials, and the work area.
  • Provide coverage in the absence of other Maintenance Technicians.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining certified management systems such as ISO 9001. Identify training needs and promote awareness of risks and opportunities associated with the work.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the RCMS program, ensuring personnel are aware of guiding principles and safety policies.
  • Engage in additional projects as required.
