We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Nurse to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary and episodic care to patients of all age groups in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop comprehensive care plans
- Perform triage, health promotions, health screening, and manage acute and chronic problems
- Diagnose and manage patient presentations, recognizing and coordinating management plans as needed
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and perform EKGs as required
- Act as a primary responder and provider in emergency situations, and facilitate patient wellness through health promotions and education
- Refer patients to inter- and intra-agency services, community resources, and supportive services as needed
- Participate in monthly staff meetings, and contribute to performance improvement activities
- Collaborate with LPNs and MAs to coordinate patient visit needs, and precept nurse practitioner students as desired
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nursing
- Current, active professional licensure to practice in an expanded nursing role in the Commonwealth of MA
- Eligible for DPH and DEA controlled substances registration within two months of employment
- One year nursing experience, preferably in a community health setting
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles over the life span, and assess data reflective of a patient's status
