Job Title: Pediatric Intensivist

Shriners Children's is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Intensivist to join our team at Shriners Children's Ohio in Dayton. As a Pediatric Intensivist, you will be responsible for the medical management of critically ill pediatric patients, working closely with attending burn/critical care surgeons. Your primary focus will be on the daily management of post-operative craniofacial patients and post-surgical patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level pediatric critical care clinical services to patients, including performing and recording history and physical examinations, recording and interpreting pertinent patient data, developing, documenting, and executing a treatment plan, and administering medications as required.
  • Perform, publish, and present clinical and/or translational research.
  • Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Make suggestions to the Department Chief and/or attending staff that may be beneficial to the improvement of departmental and/or hospital policies and operations.
  • Participate in the call schedule as assigned.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote effective working relationships with other physicians and hospital staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings and hospital committees.
  • Use hospital resources efficiently.
  • Abide by hospital regulations, bylaws, and policies.
  • Maintain good professional relationships with the broader medical community.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Must have completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited pediatric residency program.
  • Board certified or board eligible.
  • Must have completed relevant fellowship training in pediatric critical care.
  • Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of OH.
  • Must be eligible for DEA license.
  • Must possess Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Experience providing care for critically ill pediatric patients in an intensive care setting. Experience working with burns and craniofacial reconstructions in a post-operative setting highly preferred.
