Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at MUSC Health & Medical University of SC. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will provide primary care to patients and precept nurse practitioner students. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track clinical position within the College of Nursing.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive history and physical examinations
  • Evaluate and treat patients based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as cryotherapy, incision and drainage of wounds, and simple skin biopsies
  • Initiate referrals to other healthcare providers and/or consults
  • Document and bill for direct care provided
  • Utilize current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice
  • Participate in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research
  • Precept students at MUSC enrolled as advanced practice provider students
Requirements
  • Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • Eligibility for APRN licensure with prescriptive authority and DHEC licensure by the State of South Carolina
  • DEA licensure and national certification as an FNP
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or the Military Training Network
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of family medicine experience as an FNP
  • Experience in precepting nurse practitioner students
  • Earned DNP and commitment to professional scholarship
