Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing manufacturing methods and processes to improve efficiency during the product development phase and the transition into the production phase. The successful candidate will maximize product process efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, and manufacturing methods and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure compliance of manufacturing methods and processes with approved methods and quality requirements and standards.
  • Review and approve tool requests, associated designs, and inspection records.
  • Manage the accurate generation of first article data packets.
  • Create and manage all required Bills of Material.
  • Manage the incorporation and maintenance of customer-issued drawing changes.
  • Oversee the disposition of pre-SCAR and SCAR non-conformances.
  • Manage the collection and submittal of key characteristic data.
  • Monitor and respond to CP and Cpk values for critical dimensions.
  • Perform Purchase Order Requisition Approvals and flow down customer requirements to vendors.
  • Review customer contracts and identify concerns.
  • Communicate with customers through their quality systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Project Scheduler and other personnel to develop and maintain new product and design change milestones.
  • Review and approve manufacturing processes for customer-identified special processes.
  • Prepare for and lead customer product reviews and audits.
  • Oversee required validation on root cause analysis efforts.
  • Ensure the use and approval of Inspection Method Sheets.
  • Ensure completeness of milestone plans and monitor tasks for assigned products.
  • Lead efforts pertaining to customer escape research.
  • Perform reviews of and respond to manufacturing cost data.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager and/or Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing industry and related industry.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM systems, shop mathematics, sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, inspection methods, and special processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.

Work Environment:

The Project Manager will work in a manufacturing environment with moderate cold and extreme heat. The noise level is usually nominal.

Physical Demands:

The Project Manager will regularly sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee will frequently talk or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
