ABOUT MFM INDUSTRIES:

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday, with shift times varying based on availability.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various areas, including classrooms, restrooms, offices, cafeterias, common areas, gymnasiums, and surrounding grounds.

Key responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors; disposing of trash and refuse; dusting furniture and fixtures; polishing metal surfaces; providing supplies and minor maintenance; and cleaning lavatories and showers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Conduct day cleaning and inspect buildings for maintenance issues.
- Respond to requests from supervisors and educators.
- Monitor and clean entrance areas and glass doors.
- Perform daily cafeteria clean-up after meals.
- Dust mop hallways as needed after class breaks.
- Maintain restrooms post-class breaks, ensuring cleanliness and restocking supplies.
- Collect trash outside the building at least once daily.
- Change light bulbs and tubes as required.
- Address any spills or accidents promptly.
- Clean electrical rooms and storage areas as necessary.
- Sweep entranceways and manage snow removal as needed.
- Execute general cleaning tasks as directed, ensuring all rooms are properly maintained and equipped.

Additional responsibilities include:
- Dusting furniture, walls, and equipment.
- Servicing and supplying rooms.
- Emptying trash and recycling bins.
- Cleaning interior windows and mirrors at a safe height.
- Performing non-routine cleaning tasks as specified.
- Reporting any repair or replacement needs encountered during duties.
- Properly mixing and disposing of cleaning solutions.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring safe storage of cleaning products.

FLOOR MAINTENANCE:
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
- Spot clean carpets and steam clean as necessary.
- Utilize powered scrubbing and polishing equipment as directed.
- Replenish consumable items like soap and paper towels as needed.

RESTROOM SANITATION:
- Clean toilets, urinals, sinks, and other fixtures.
- Restock consumables such as soap and paper products.
- Empty trash and sanitary bins.
- Dust vents and clean piping.
- Mop and scrub floors and grout as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to operate heavy cleaning equipment and tools.
- Capability to follow verbal instructions and schedules.
- Strong reliability and professionalism in job performance.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
- Excellent time management and attention to detail.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Candidates should demonstrate a keen attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. as necessary during working hours.
