Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in providing patient care and supporting the nursing team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will assist professional nursing personnel in delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist nurses in the treatment and care of patients, performing various routine duties to support the nursing unit.
  • Carry out responsibilities according to established standards and practices, adhering to the philosophy of Carle Foundation Hospital.
  • Answer lights and telephone with good guest relations manner.
  • Pass trays and ice, transport patients to other units/departments, and maintain clean linens on patients' beds and persons.
  • Assist in preparing body after death, and assist patients with turning or repositioning in bed.
  • Take vital signs, BP, Pulse, Temperature, and respirations on all ages, and document all care given in a factual manner into the patient record.
  • Perform bedside reporting/off-going report to oncoming staff at shift change, and collaborate with other staff members to utilize the rounding process.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Medical Terminology preferred
  • None specified
