Position Summary

Our client, a prominent IT Solutions Provider, is seeking a Senior IT Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in managing business desktop and server technologies, including but not limited to: Windows 10 workstations, Windows Server 2016 & 2019, advanced networking, and vendor-specific hardware and software.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and oversee Windows Servers and Active Directory environments.
  • Design and implement Local Area Networks (LAN).
  • Establish and monitor network security protocols.
  • Optimize and maintain both network software and hardware.
  • Build and deploy file servers and cloud computing solutions.
  • Configure and implement VOIP systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting for network infrastructure issues.
  • Manage Microsoft Exchange Server operations.
  • Oversee telephone solutions.
  • Monitor alert systems and respond according to established guidelines.
  • Utilize event logs to facilitate repairs.
  • Handle escalated service requests requiring advanced responses.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new users.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in roles such as IT help desk, IT desktop support, IT support analyst, or IT service management.
  • Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is essential.
  • Preferred certifications include:
    • CompTIA Net+ and/or CompTIA Security+
      MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Solutions Associate) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) MCITP Microsoft Certified IT Professional.
  • Proficient in providing desktop and end-user support for both hardware and software.
  • Strong familiarity with common desktop applications such as MS Office Suite and Adobe products.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities across various Operating Systems including Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, and MAC OSX.
  • Knowledgeable in Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Print Services, File Services, GPOs, and other standard Windows Server roles.
  • Familiar with SaaS solutions like Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience in network and firewall administration (Cisco, Sophos, Sonicwall).
  • Understanding of server virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi; vCenter).
  • Solid practical knowledge of system and application logs, as well as performance monitoring tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills, maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in group presentations.
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory)

  • CompTIA Net+ and/or CompTIA Security+ certifications.
  • MCSA or MCSE certifications.
  • CCNA or CCIE-Cisco certifications are advantageous.
