The Yard Hostler is responsible for operating industrial tractors and trailers within the yard to facilitate shipping and receiving functions. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Operate industrial tractors and trailers to move trailers within the yard
• Perform daily inspections of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
• Document and report any maintenance or safety issues
• Adhere to all guidelines and regulations while operating equipment
• Inspect trailers for defects prior to hooking and upon hooking at dock locations

• Minimum 1 year of driving experience, Class A or Class B
• Experience in a fast-paced, distribution/logistics environment
• Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility in meeting deadlines
• High school or GED equivalent
• Ability to read/write English and communicate effectively
