Job Summary

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Egg Quality Inspector in our Breaking and Transfer Department. As an Egg Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and fitness of eggs for consumption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect eggs before and after they are broken to ascertain quality and fitness for consumption.
  • Remove sour eggs, black rots, and blood spots from the breaking lines.
  • Rotate to cleaning position to maintain a clean breaking room in accordance with USDA standards.
  • Remove full pails of egg and dump them in an inedible chute.
  • Inspect eggs by identifying dirty ones and removing them from the production line and placing them on a flat surface.
  • Remove broken eggs and shell particles from the production line and dump them in pails and inedible chutes.
  • Remove eggs coming out of the washer, checking for dirt and leakers, and removing them from the lines before they go to the breaking machines to comply with USDA regulations.
  • Learn and follow the correct cleaning procedures and safety requirements.
  • Ability to clean all parts and equipment and put them back together.
  • Obtain general information on every area of the production floor.
  • Follow all company procedures and policies.
  • Ability to follow instructions from leads and supervisors.
  • Fill out all required paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to perform Quality Assurance duties for Egg Candling and HACCP requirements for Egg washing and sanitizing.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's & SQF requirements, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions from leads and supervisors.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Successful completion of yearly LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) Training and yearly Chemical Training.
