Unit Overview: (Oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory; we are willing to train candidates with a strong interest in cancer care.)
This unit consists of 18 beds dedicated to Medical Oncology patients, focusing on the treatment of solid tumors through surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and end-of-life care. The unit is also involved in research and clinical trials.
Position Summary:
- Utilizes knowledge, theory, and experience to adapt to clinical changes effectively.
- Applies the Synergy Model for Care to tailor patient and family care.
- Independently delivers safe and effective care to patients using the nursing process.
- Assesses patient responses to care plans and modifies them as necessary.
- Incorporates the AACN Synergy Model into daily practice.
- Collects and analyzes data continuously, reporting findings to physicians and interdisciplinary teams as per organizational standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of two years in the relevant specialty.
- A valid, active, and unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Certification is preferred.
- BLS certification is required; ACLS may be necessary in specific departments.
- New hires or internal promotions must complete UCN/SNM criteria within nine months, including communication training and enrollment in the LEAP course.
