Job Summary:The Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing expert nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This will involve assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to patient care.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a PCU or similar setting.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
