As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Specialist at Houston Methodist, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and adhering to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies. This position requires a skilled technologist who can complete a variety of routine to complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special ultrasound exams of high difficulty.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special ultrasound exams, using high-frequency sound waves to capture images.
- Assess, identify, and respond to the needs of patients for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
- Provide direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic procedures or special ultrasound procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations section.
- Three years' experience as a Ultrasound Technologist.
- RDMS-OB, RDMS-AB, or RDMS-BR certification, or ARRRT-SON, ARRRT-VS, RVS, or RVT certification, or BLS certification.
