Job Summary:

As a Phlebotomist PRN at Medical City Dallas, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services. Your primary responsibility will be to collect blood and other specimens from patients, accurately labeling and processing them for testing. You will work closely with our laboratory team to ensure that all samples are handled and processed efficiently, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture and finger sticks.
  • Accurately label and process specimens for testing, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
  • Transport specimens to the laboratory for processing and testing.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries.
  • Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure that all samples are handled and processed efficiently.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required or certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred.
  • Skilled phlebotomy technique; BLS within 30 days of hire.
