Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and physically capable Night Custodian to join our team at Community High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing, polishing, and scrubbing of floors, walls, windows, washrooms, and chalkboards.

• Use basic tools, such as a hammer, screwdriver, and pliers, to handle light maintenance and repair duties.

• Perform mechanical functions, such as furniture assembly, painting, and replacing fluorescent light bulbs.

• Operate machines, such as scrubbers and carpet cleaners, to maintain a clean and safe environment.

• Climb and work overhead on a twelve-foot ladder to reach high areas.

• Safely handle and apply harsh chemicals, following all safety protocols and regulations.

• Read and understand instructions, such as Material Safety Data Sheets, and comply with regulations, such as Blood Borne Pathogens.

• Submit written reports on safety and problematic issues.

• Adapt to changing situations and respond to problems as they arise.

• Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor with students and staff.

• Work effectively in a team setting to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

• Physically capable of safely lifting, shoveling, and/or carrying at least 50 lbs.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a fast-paced environment.
