Job Overview

Salary: $82,500.00

We are collaborating with a prominent heavy industrial mechanical contractor to identify a qualified Project Engineer. Below is the detailed job overview for your consideration.

Essential Qualifications for the Project Engineer:

#1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, specifically within a mechanical contracting or prime contracting role in an industrial setting.

#2. Comprehensive knowledge of plans and specifications is essential.

#3. Ability to work independently on projects and engage directly with clients.

#4. No more than three positions held in the last decade.

Requirements for the Project Engineer:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in construction, preferably in an industrial context as a Mechanical or Prime Contractor.
  • Extensive understanding of construction documents and technical specifications, including:
    • Layout drawings (plan and elevation views)
    • Process & Flow Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Piping Isometric Drawings
  • Experience in scheduling and estimating is a plus.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Engineer:

  • Maintain regular communication with assigned jobsite foremen, either via phone or in-person.
  • Provide daily updates to the Operations Manager through phone or in-person meetings.
  • Conduct weekly site visits or more frequently as project demands dictate.
  • Document job progress through photographs, where permitted.
  • Monitor and record the progress of subcontractors when applicable.
  • Submit weekly salary timesheets to the Operations Manager for review and approval.
  • Process mileage and expense reimbursement requests as necessary.
  • Send delivery tickets, invoices, and other relevant paperwork to the designated office via FedEx.
  • Work an average of 45-50 hours per week under a weekly salary arrangement.

Additional Key Requirements:

  • This is a 100% in-office role with travel requirements.
  • No Visa sponsorships or Corp-to-Corp arrangements.
