Qualifications:
  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
  • Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
    • Prolonged standing and walking required each shift.
    • Capability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform job duties.

Unit Overview:

4C Unit: Focuses on the medical cardiac population, managing both chronic and acute conditions while providing telemetry and cardiac care. Patients include those with complex management needs such as heart failure, respiratory distress, severe dysrhythmias, pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, diabetes, and gastrointestinal issues. Coordination of care for patients requiring catheterization lab services, angiography, dialysis, outpatient infusion/chemotherapy, and anticoagulation therapies is also part of the role.

Mercy has classified this position as safety-sensitive, necessitating the ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely as an essential function of the job.
