Job Title: CAD Drafting Technician

United Safety & Survivability Corporation is seeking a skilled CAD Drafting Technician to join our team. As a CAD Drafting Technician, you will play a critical role in creating detailed drawings and CAD models for our innovative engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create accurate and detailed drawings in CAD from existing models and manage drawings in Enterprise PDM (the Vault).
  • Revise existing drawings in CAD according to engineering and Engineering Change Order (ECO) direction.
  • Perform basic CAD modeling (part creation as well as part revisions) and assembly work (assembly creation as well as assembly revisions).
  • Work through the ECO process to release and revise items for fabrication, purchase, and production.
  • Enter and maintain part numbers, bills of materials, and items into our ERP system, Syteline.
  • Enter and maintain routing data and vendor information for purchased items.
  • Create work procedures and document assembly instructions for various products and processes.
  • Work closely and cross-functionally with various Engineering divisions and business departments.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive computer skills with the ability to quickly become competent with various software programs (MS Office suite required).
  • Proven experience with CAD drafting programs and methodologies.
  • Prior experience with SolidWorks, SolidEdge, and/or AutoCAD a plus.
  • Strong mechanical ability and an aptitude for drawing and detailing work.
  • Solid organizational skills to help manage multiple areas of activity.
  • An understanding of general manufacturing concepts and workflow.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Capacity to work independently for extended periods without losing focus.
  • Ability to respond and adapt to change favorably and quickly.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, directions, and other communication in English.
  • Safety is at the forefront of your mind when you are working, and you gladly follow all safety policies.
  • You bring with you a positive attitude and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Help United Safety operate effectively by adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Understanding that you are part of a growing company, you have no concerns with and able to work extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays to support that growth.
