Position Overview

The ideal candidate will possess the skills to accurately assess patient health and recommend effective treatment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with patients to gather insights into their symptoms and health issues.
  • Identifying and addressing acute medical conditions, including infections, as well as chronic ailments like hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes.
  • Administering medications, therapies, and specialized medical interventions to treat or avert health complications.
  • Clarifying procedures and discussing diagnostic results or treatment plans with patients.
  • Tracking patient health status and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Offering guidance on health and wellness topics, including nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and preventive care.
  • Providing vaccinations to protect against preventable illnesses.
  • Keeping comprehensive records of patient consultations, including notes on assessments, treatments, and test outcomes.
  • Referring patients to other healthcare professionals when necessary.
  • Supporting patients who require ongoing medical care.
  • Preparing necessary health documentation when required.

Qualifications:

Education and Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).
  • Board certification in internal medicine from The American Board of Internal Medicine.
  • Active medical license in North Carolina.

Experience:

  • 3 to 7 years of internship and clinical residency experience.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients.

Physical Demands:

  • Position requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift and support weights up to 35 pounds.
  • Capacity to focus on detailed tasks.
  • Prolonged use of a computer is necessary.
