Position OverviewRole Summary

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), night-shift role that includes working every third weekend, two holidays annually, and being on-call approximately every twelfth week.

Radiology professionals who accept a part-time or full-time position with University Hospitals may qualify for a sign-on bonus of $10,000 for full-time roles or $5,000 for part-time roles.


Eligible roles encompass: CT Technologist, MRI Technologist, Mammography Technologist, Mobile Van Mammography, Multi-Modality Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Radiographer, Sonographer, and Special Procedures Technologist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibits proficient technical and patient care skills by effectively executing CT scanning protocols and procedures in Diagnostic CT.
  • Ensures patient care during visits to the CT department aligns with expected service excellence standards.
  • Utilizes administrative skills to enhance the efficient operation of the department.
  • Collaborates effectively and promptly with colleagues and staff.
  • Fosters and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, and coworkers.
  • Adheres to established hospital CT safety protocols.
  • Takes initiative for personal development and promotes a culture of learning.
  • Provides age-appropriate care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
  • Works collaboratively with coworkers in a timely manner while demonstrating a positive demeanor.

Additional Duties

  • Performs other assigned tasks as necessary.
  • Complies with all organizational policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to the documentation provided during departmental orientation.
  • Must adhere to all requirements for the safe and secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures are in place to ensure appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Graduation from an Accredited Radiologic Technology program is required.

Experience Requirements

  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience as a radiologic technologist.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in using a variety of equipment specific to the field, including CT scanners, power injectors, and various computer systems.
  • Experienced in sending and obtaining patient information for care.
  • Ability to perform procedures specific to the area of expertise.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
  • Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT-R) and a current Ohio license are required.

Additional Licenses and Certifications

  • CT Certification is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (up to 50 lbs).
  • Occasional climbing and balancing.
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Constant talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.
  • Constant eye/hand/foot coordination.
