Job Summary

DS Containers is seeking a skilled and experienced forklift driver to join our team in Batavia, IL. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and products throughout our production facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a forklift to transport raw materials, finished goods, and scrap to and from production lines, storage areas, and shipping docks.
  • Perform daily inspections on lift trucks to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Document any issues with equipment and work with maintenance teams to resolve them.
  • Restock, move, store, retrieve, and deliver raw materials and scrap as needed.
  • Unload, receive, and document inbound shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Work efficiently and safely within company guidelines, adhering to OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Compensation

$20/hour

Monday or Tuesday: 12-hour shift, 7pm-7am

Wednesday: 6-hour shift

Thursday and Friday or Saturday and Sunday: 12-hour shift, 7pm-7am

Weekends required (alternating shift, switches each week)
