Job Title: Pathologist Assistant

At HexaQuEST Health, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pathologist Assistant to join our team in Surgical Pathology. As a Pathologist Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing anatomic pathology services under the supervision of a pathologist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens for microscopic examination, holding and transport/shipment, ensuring proper identification and accessioning.
  • Prepare specimens for cytological studies and maintain surgical and medical cytology reports.
  • Assist with fine needle aspirations performed in radiology and physician offices.
  • Prepare cases for and assist with the coordination of cancer conferences.
  • May assess and/or process frozen section laboratory specimens according to established histology laboratory policies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Science and completion of Pathologist Assistant or equivalent from a NAACLS accredited program. Master's degree preferred.
  • Pathologist Assistant certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality, and solid decision-making skills.
Working Conditions:

This role requires frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, and standing for long periods. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a stressful environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
