Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal issues, developing personalized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient history.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies, interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging results to guide treatment decisions.
  • Manage chronic gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and gastrointestinal cancers, providing pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education on procedures and lifestyle modifications.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and dietitians, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes, participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions to enhance patient management.
  • Engage in clinical research activities and contribute to advancements in gastroenterology, staying updated on the latest research, techniques, and advancements in the field.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Completed an accredited residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • 2 years of experience in gastroenterology preferred, new graduates with outstanding training will be considered.
