Atmospheric Scientist

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Atmospheric Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Atmospheric Science, Physics, or related disciplines, with a focus on research and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to research and development efforts in atmospheric science and weather effects
• Work with a cross-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and software developers
• Develop and implement algorithms for near-term weather forecasting, atmospheric characterization, and data processing and visualization

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in Atmospheric Science, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline
• 0-5 years of experience in a related field
• Experience with radar and/or satellite meteorology
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, C/C++, Java

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with artificial intelligence/machine learning
• Understanding of numerical weather prediction processes
• Experience with cloud physics and atmospheric particle identification
