Job Overview

Position: Speech Language Pathologist for a Skilled Nursing Facility

Employment Type: Full Time

Objective: To contribute to the planning, organization, development, and management of Speech Language Pathologist services in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring the highest quality of care for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Speech Language Pathologist services to residents in line with established practice standards and company protocols.
  • Follow company guidelines for documentation and billing related to Speech Language Pathologist services.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in evaluating, planning, implementing, and monitoring resident therapy programs.
  • Conduct regular screenings of residents to assess the need for intervention or treatment.
  • Perform timely evaluations of residents referred for therapy to identify the necessity for intervention.
  • Gather necessary data through resident evaluations to inform treatment planning and execution.
  • Carry out specialized assessments as required.
  • Create treatment plans that set both short-term and long-term goals, along with strategies to achieve them.
  • Communicate evaluation results, treatment plans, and recommendations effectively to residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ensure completion of compliant and medically necessary documentation as per CMS standards using NetHealth EMR systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of an active Speech Language Pathology license in the relevant state(s).
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.
