Position Overview & Requirements- Specialty: Operating Room Technician

As an Operating Room Technician, you will be responsible for demonstrating essential knowledge and skills in the scrub role, which is vital for providing assistance during surgical operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring aseptic technique, preparing necessary equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies for assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; managing case preparation and breakdown at the conclusion of each procedure, and organizing the operating room and supplies for the current and following day's schedule. Availability for call duty on a scheduled basis is required, along with the flexibility to perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Operating Room Technician will:
- Maintain aseptic technique and prepare the required equipment and sterile supplies for surgical cases.
- Scrub and pass instruments and equipment during surgical procedures.
- Manage case preparation and breakdown at the end of surgical procedures.
- Set up the operating room and supplies for the day's schedule.
- Be available for call duty as required by unit needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor when necessary.
Candidates must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment health screening, which includes a drug test.
QualificationsRequired: Graduate of a surgical technician program as mandated by state regulations.
Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a surgical technician.
CertificationsRequired: BLS Certification.
Preferred: Surgical Technology Certification.
