Position Summary: The Cost Analysis Specialist will play a crucial role in evaluating data and preparing proposals, conducting earned value reporting, and performing various analytical tasks as needed. This role involves determining and providing cost estimates for product manufacturing, projects, or services. The specialist will collaborate with multiple departments to generate these cost estimates and present their findings to senior management for final review before submission to clients. Additionally, they will assist with multi-year bids and proposals across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile cost, schedule, and technical components in the development of proposals in line with request for proposal specifications.
  • Assess the reasonableness of costs and pricing; engage in cost and pricing reviews with management; generate price and cost analysis reports, providing recommended pricing strategies to support negotiations with clients; and identify risks and opportunities related to cost estimates.
  • Analyze reporting for trends and investigate any anomalies.
  • Gather historical cost data to estimate expenses for current or future products.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support for the maintenance of the After-market Price List.
  • Evaluate the accuracy of financial metrics (e.g., material costs, direct labor, indirect costs, profit margins) to support pricing recommendations.
  • Assist in bid and proposal preparation, ensuring timely submissions for the relevant business units to enhance accuracy, win rates, margin growth, and turnaround times.
  • Engage in and promote continuous improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Take the initiative to learn product identifiers and become proficient with all commodity groups.
  • Demonstrate clear and precise data entry and documentation skills, with strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Identify and select the most suitable sources based on product quality, customer approvals, cost-effectiveness, and overall supplier performance.
  • Negotiate costs with suppliers to reduce expenses and offer more competitive pricing to end customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Aerospace Industry is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven capability to present information professionally and effectively.
