Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is on the lookout for an Aviation Operations Analyst to enhance the Marine Air Ground Task Force Staff Training program (MSTP). This role entails providing expert knowledge to evaluate and analyze MAGTF level organizations.
The MSTP's objective is to deliver training in MAGTF across various military operations, particularly within a Joint and/or Combined Task Force setting, aimed at refining warfighting capabilities, with a focus on training and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify operational challenges, propose solutions, and draft procedural enhancements as an Observer, Trainer, and Collector.
- Conduct assessments of MAGTF processes, scrutinizing operational orders and procedures.
- Design, develop, coordinate, and present operational-level, regionally focused MAGTF relevant instruction, training, and education.
- Assist in the Brigadier General Selection Orientation Course (BGSOC) Senior-Leader Seminars, the Marine Corps University (MCU), and other military educational institutions.
- Gather pertinent data and processes through observation, analyze information, document findings in a comprehensive after-action report and final exercise evaluation report.
Qualifications
- Prior military pilot or navigator/Naval Flight Officer/Electronic Warfare Officer/Electronic Countermeasures Officer experience is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge and operational experience in deploying and utilizing ground combat, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units and related equipment.
- Familiarity with military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the operational command level.
- In-depth understanding of the Marine Corps and joint/combined Planning Process, along with relevant air operations doctrine.
- Experience in senior staff planning within the Joint Operations Planning Process and/or the Marine Corps Planning Process at a COCOM, JTF, MEF, Wing, or AOC supporting air operations.
- Experience in a Joint/Combined Air Operations Center (J/CAOC).
- Proficient in drafting orders in the USMC and Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) format.
- Knowledge of command-and-control systems associated with Air Tasking Order processes.
- Completion of a relevant level of professional military education such as Command and Staff College or War College.
- Experience in deploying and employing aviation and/or aviation support units.
Preferred Skills
- Mid/Senior-Level – Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 15+ years of direct relevant experience.
- Experience in integrating air operations into USMC/Joint exercises.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Travel Requirements
- Up to 35%, primarily to various military training locations.
