Position: PRN Voice and Swallowing Specialist

Organization: Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates (CEENTA)

CEENTA is excited to announce an opening for a PRN Voice and Swallowing Specialist, offering 16 hours of work per week. This role is essential as we broaden our services in the vibrant city of Charlotte, NC, and its surrounding areas.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and possessing a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in assessing and treating voice and swallowing disorders.
  • Strong candidates who are in their Clinical Fellowship may also be considered.

About the Role:

The Voice and Swallowing Center collaborates closely with our laryngologists and otolaryngologists, all of whom have a keen interest in voice and swallowing challenges. Our center is equipped with ancillary services such as audiology, CT imaging, and allergy testing.

Currently, our team comprises four full-time specialists with expertise in various areas, including:

  • Professional voice care
  • Pediatric voice
  • Resonance disorders
  • Gender-affirming voice
  • Adult dysphagia

Preferred qualifications include certification in LSVT and MDTP, as well as experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct both rigid and flexible endoscopic procedures, ensuring accurate interpretation and treatment planning.
  • Perform acoustic voice analysis and therapy interventions.
  • Document all patient interactions and therapy sessions in the electronic medical record system.
  • Provide comprehensive evaluations and therapy interventions for a diverse caseload, including patients with head and neck cancer, neurological disorders, and trauma.
