About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Recreation Leader to join our team at the G. Ross Bell Youth Detention Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing recreational programs and activities for the residents of the center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and coordinate recreational programs, activities, and special events for various groups, including recreation center patrons, seniors, and youth.
  • Prepare, monitor, and administer departmental or organizational budget by reviewing spending trends, expenditure reports, and analyzing financial data.
  • Maintain records and files by completing various documents electronically and/or handwritten regarding recreation center activities and programs.
  • Supervise staff by assigning and distributing work, directing staff in their job duties, monitoring progress of work, providing feedback and/or training.
  • Develop and distribute marketing and advertising for programs, activities, and events of the recreation center to inform the community of the recreation center's offerings.
Requirements
  • Driver's license.
  • Experience in the planning, development, and implementation of recreation programs and activities.
  • Experience coordinating with volunteers and/or part-time employees involved in recreational programs/activities.
  • Experience using computer software to create marketing materials for recreational programs/activities.
  • Experience assisting with developing budgets and identifying costs and/or fees required for recreational programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Certified Pool Operator.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Sports and Recreation Management, Parks and Recreation Management, Physical Education, or a highly related field.
