POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician, the Emergency Care Technician II plays a vital role in patient support by executing triage, registration, basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and other routine non-professional nursing tasks.
A High School diploma or equivalent and CNA certification are required.Key Responsibilities:
- Delivers safe, effective, and timely patient care under the guidance of a licensed nurse.
1. Provides patient care as directed by a licensed nurse, performing essential tasks such as comfort measures, linen distribution, and assisting with personal hygiene needs.
2. Conducts patient assessments and care procedures, including obtaining vital signs, monitoring glucose levels, and assisting with specimen collection.
3. Observes and reports changes in patient conditions, promptly responding to call lights and alarms.
4. Assists in the safe transfer of patients and ensures proper safety protocols are followed.
5. Maintains accurate documentation of patient care activities and unit records as required.
Administrative Duties:
- Handles clerical tasks related to patient care, including managing phone calls and maintaining patient charts.
1. Orders and stocks necessary supplies and ensures that all emergency equipment is operational.
2. Cleans and maintains patient care areas and equipment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Team Collaboration:
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and contributes to team meetings.
1. Demonstrates a commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork.
2. Offers assistance to colleagues and maintains respectful communication at all times.
Professional Conduct:
- Adheres to the hospital's dress code and maintains a professional appearance.
1. Completes all required training and education to ensure competency in the role.
2. Respects patient confidentiality and follows all hospital policies and procedures.
