North Oaks Medical Center is seeking a skilled Casting Technician/MA to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care and support services in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, and durable medical equipment (DME) with precision and care.
- Monitor and evaluate patients post-casting to ensure comfort and optimal outcomes.
- Measure and fit patients for DME, ensuring a proper fit and comfort.
- Educate patients on proper care of casts, splints, and DME, including hygiene and proper use.
- Document accurate records of casting procedures, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist in stocking and maintaining DME, splinting, casting supplies, and other clinical materials.
- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including intake, discharge, and telephone messaging.
- Assist with in-office procedures, such as setting up a sterile field and assisting with joint injections, I & D, wound care, etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and support services.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a casting or medical assistant role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant certification or casting technician certification preferred.
- Ability to lift and move patients, as well as stand and walk for extended periods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
