Network Infrastructure Specialist

PRTC is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to design and implement its data networks, including core routers, aggregation switches, data center infrastructure, VoIP networks, security systems, transport networks, and video distribution networks.

This position requires technical leadership, vendor selection, capital budget planning, and future technology planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IP networking protocols and architectures, as well as experience with multicast, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, NAT, QoS, and Ethernet wiring standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement PRTC's data networks, ensuring high-performance and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership in the development of network architecture, including core routers, aggregation switches, and data center infrastructure.
• Collaborate with vendors to select and integrate best-in-class technologies.
• Develop and manage capital budgets for network equipment and services.
• Research and recommend new technologies to enhance PRTC's network capabilities.
• Monitor and optimize network performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
• Provide technical support and training to junior personnel.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in IP network operations, WAN/LAN technologies, and protocols.
• Cisco CCNA certificate or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet networks, including 802.1ad, MPLS, EVPN, segment routing, and G.8032.
• Familiarity with telecom access technologies, such as XGS and G-PON, Carrier Ethernet standards, and wireless technologies (Wifi 5,6,6e).
• Understanding of VoIP applications and QoS preferred.

Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
