Job Title: Planner Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Planner Estimator to join our team at Gana-A'Yoo, Limited. As a Planner Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing support to our base operations support services contract in Kodiak, AK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research to determine the cost of materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and contractors within specified timeframes.
  • Assess project risk levels and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quotations and cost estimates for work to be performed.
  • Support the activities of buyers and assist with bids for new contracts.
  • Monitor project costs throughout various stages to ensure they remain within estimated parameters.
  • Liaise with material suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate the best prices and delivery terms.
  • Review customer specifications and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve design issues and provide technical assistance.
  • Provide input to production schedules to facilitate timely delivery of customer requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company HSE Management System procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications in Engineering (vocational or degree-level) or relevant experience in a hands-on engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of machine shop equipment.
  • Experience in estimating Price and Deliveries (P&D) for machined components.
  • Knowledge of the Repairs & Maintenance and Construction industries.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Great communication and IT skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screening.
