**Work Schedule: Monday – Friday & Saturday as needed Overview of the Role

Execute a range of technical tasks associated with conducting screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate mammographic imaging equipment and other relevant devices.

- Position patients appropriately, utilizing immobilization techniques when necessary.

- Calculate exposure parameters and assist medical professionals.

- Conduct quality control measures related to mammography.

- Assess radiographs for diagnostic quality and obtain additional images as required.

- Prepare and organize medical supplies using aseptic techniques when applicable.

- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.

- Record mammographic procedures and supplies in the appropriate systems.

- Mentor new Mammographers and provide educational training to students.

- Assist in the maintenance and compilation of statistical data.

- Demonstrate expertise in performing all breast imaging procedures, including interventional techniques.

- Monitor procedures and supply charges in the mammography section for accuracy.

- Perform additional related duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Education: Completion of a program that meets eligibility criteria for certification or currently holds the necessary certification.

Technologists qualifying after specific dates must fulfill the Mammo-Specific requirements by completing at least 40 hours of documented mammography training.

Experience:

- Level I: Must obtain ARRT certification upon employment and perform a minimum of 25 mammography exams under supervision.

- Level II: Requires at least two years of experience as a Mammography technologist and a minimum of 200 mammography examinations within a 24-month period.

- Level III: A minimum of four years of experience in the specialty modality for promotion consideration.

Certifications:

- ARRT certification in radiography.

- ARRT advanced certification in mammography.

- FDA/MQSA qualified, including meeting MQSA CE requirements of at least 15 CEUs in a 36-month period, with at least 6 CEUs in each mammographic modality used.

- BLS certification.
