Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Center Attendant to join our team at Memphis Goodwill Incorporated. As a key member of our donation processing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that donations are processed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accept and sort donations from the public, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that donors receive a receipt for their donations.
  • Process and secure donations until they are picked up by a Goodwill truck, adhering to Goodwill's processing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sweeping and cleaning the donation center and surrounding areas.
  • Break down empty boxes and keep the workspace tidy.
  • Ensure that all donations are properly stored and that trash and debris are disposed of in designated containers.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations at all times.
  • Report any accidents or incidents to the Donation Center Manager.
  • Secure the donation center at the end of the day.
  • Assist the truck driver with loading and unloading the truck.
  • Notify the manager of any needed supplies, truck service, or maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain balance while lifting, loading, or unloading.
  • Ability to separate salable from non-salable donations.
  • Constant public contact.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Interpersonal Relations

  • Ability to effectively relate to people with various types of disabilities, personalities, and cultural backgrounds.
