Job Title: Teller

Eastern Bank is seeking a skilled Teller to provide exceptional customer service and financial solutions to our clients.

Job Summary:

As a Teller, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine duties to include processing transactions, identifying potential financial needs, and making referrals to the platform area as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process deposits to customer accounts, including verification of cash and endorsements, and providing customers with receipts.
  • Cash checks for customers and non-customers.
  • Process and record the sale of monetary instruments, such as official bank checks.
  • Process foreign currency purchases and sales.
  • Redeem savings bonds.
  • File government-mandated reports related to large cash transactions and the sale of monetary instruments.
  • Process loan payments and credit card cash advances.
  • Assist customers with access to safe deposit areas.
  • Engage in the sales process by identifying potential financial needs and making referrals to platform staff.
  • Act in a supervisory capacity as necessary, reviewing and approving transactions, and assuming Teller Manager-level responsibilities.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of teller experience preferred.
  • Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Spanish highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
  • Self-starter with technical literacy and strong communication skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations without a break.
  • Ability to transport items weighing 15 pounds or more.
Work Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift.
  • Day shift.
  • Evenings as needed.
  • Weekends as needed.
Experience:
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Cash handling experience required.
  • Customer service experience required.
